Veteran Female P.I. Reveals How Women Investigators - Are Natural at Winning Cases/strong>A hard-boiled approach to investigative work may seem effective, but it can also intimidate sources and close doors. Over her four decades in the investigative industry Lynda J. Bergh Herring discovered that the empathy, intuition, and a less confrontational style of women often provides the key to opening doors and closing cases.
“[Women] have a lot of natural assets or traits that are very helpful in the field,” Herring said in a recent YouTube interview. “We’re not as intimidating … and that works in any type of investigation. And we have great intuition.”
In her presentation, “The Life of a Female Private Investigator,” Herring will describe how pressure-free conversations and skilled use of social media have helped her solve cases involving predatory offenders, including child sex traffickers. A self-described “general investigator,” Herring’s casework spans a wide range of specialties, including asset searches, background checks, cybercrimes, due diligence, elder abuse, fraud, personal injury, tenant screenings, workers’ compensation, and more.
Herring brings both extensive field experience and academic training to her work. She is a graduate of the Rio Hondo Police Academy in California and holds bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice and psychology, as well as a master’s degree in public administration. She founded L.J.B. Investigations in June 1996.
